Heritage Makers Studio Showcase!

There are so many reasons why I love Heritage Makers, one being is the sharing of ideas from other Heritage Maker Consultants and Clients.  There gets to be many, many different outstanding creative ideas submitted for everyone to share, thus,  creating a huge template collection or Gallery,  that is often added to every week.  To date there is almost 3700 templates in the Template Gallery.  Using Heritage Makers to create beautiful books, calendars, flip and swatchbooks, Decks of Cards, postcards, invites and greeting cards, scrap pages, canvases, the possibilities are never ending and only limited by your own imagination.  And if you are like myself, my imagination and creativity skills are not as fine tuned as many of my fellow Consultants and or clients with  Heritage Makers, and in the process, they  become the Heritage Maker of their families.  I love that I can sit down and in a matter of a few minutes create a page, or Canvas, which with Traditional Scrapbooking would take me hours and hours, and quite frankly lots of STUFF!  and room and space besides!
Here is a beautiful story on the POWERFUL, Powerful impact that a little tiny 5x5 book can have....... on so many, Little Tristan and his family will have reached out and touched many, in his very short brief time here on earth.  This too is one of the reasons that I found Heritage Makers, or I would rather say, Heritage Makers found me.  I wanted to be able to do a memory book, about my own daughter, Tabitha, that I lost 22 years ago.
Thank you Arae - for sharing your Story, your family and your son Tristan, with us, and Yes, there is a reason for everything.   I have had the Joy and honor of "meeting a new friend, in you."

Heritage Makers creates outstanding videos showcasing the many benefits of using the Studio 3, and Premier membership.

Heritage Makers Reunion 2010

Wow what a couple of days my fellow Heritage Maker Consultants had at Reunion 2010 in beautiful Phoenix, Arizona. This year they went to the Arizona Biltmore. I was not able to attend this year, due to family commitments. Last year I was able to attend Reunion in Las Vegas, NV, an experience I so much wanted to beable to do again this year!

Each year HM Consultants all get together for a few days of energizing fun, training, meeting up with old friends and making new ones. Not to mention the recognition that is available to every consultant! One of the great things ( and there are Many) about Heritage Makers and the incredible company that they are, is that Heritage Makers makes it possible for consultants to earn the Reunion Trip for FREE! Heritage Makers offers the Highest Quality Products and is on the very cutting edge of a Personal Online Publishing company. Heritage Makers is a company that recognizes the extreme value of preserving heritage, strengthening families all done thru the Power of Storybooking!

One of the most anticipated ( and again there are many) presentations at Heritage Makers Reunion, is the Best of Heritage Awards, which are presented in video form. What the Best of Heritage Awards are; are very moving specific stories that have been done or told throughout the past year. I want to share the best of Heritage Awards that were given this year at Heritage Makers Reunion.

THIS IS WHY - I LOVE HERITAGE MAKERS! and became a Consultant myself. It was all because I myself had stories to tell! That of my youngest Daughter Emilee, and her premature birth, my family, my own life story, and also to tell the story of my Daughter Tabitha - whom I lost in 1988 due to premature birth. It is a book that I work on using the few photos that I had and still have. It is a book that in writing it, is a healing process. When I complete that Book - in the months to come, I too will share that book here. But in the mean time, please take time to watch these three Best of Heritage - Heritage Makers Stories. Here is also a link to my Heritage Makers Playlist on You Tube with these videos.

Important Announcements from Heritage Makers!

At Heritage Makers Reunion event in Phoenix this week, an exciting announcement is being made. (Along with all the new products, art, and NEW Catalog!)

Heritage Makers will be introducing a Publishing Points system. This is great news for you!

We are in the process of turning all credits into the new HM publishing point system.
As of August 16, 2010 the credits in your account will be given their equivalent point value.

We are so excited for points!

Here's why:

• Credits are being converted to the retail price of the item you purchased.

• You can now use your points on any product, but you aren't tied into the product you originally purchased.

• You can easily create birthday gifts, holiday presents, or home décor without worrying about purchasing a specific item.

All newly purchased points will now expire after two years instead of one year. All previously purchased credits that have been converted to points will expire two years from the date the credit was purchased. Logging into the HM site after the conversion happens will allow you to see the new expiration date for your points.
The points system is going to make creating your favorite Heritage Makers projects much easier. You should notice the change in your account by August 16th.

In order to roll out publishing points and new development code, the main Heritage Makers website will be unavailable Sunday August 15 at 8:00 p.m. until Monday August 16 at 6:00 a.m. MDT.

Why I love what I do

When I get asked what do you do? Heritage Makers created a video awhile back - where several other consultants tell why they love being Heritage Makers consultants. This is that last clip on the Heritage Makers business opportunity video filmed in the fall of 2009. I agree with this so whole heartedly! My Granddaughter received a Christmas gift several years ago, which was made by her great Aunt Kathy who is also a Heritage Makers Consultant. Kathy discovered Heritage Makers about a month before I did, Kathy is also married to a guy I refer to as one of my cousins on the Hilde side..... We are not blood cousins but- growing up we always were at the same family events, and my Grandma Amanda was also his grandma too. It is like that in small Minnesota towns. I am ever so greatful to Kathy for creating this 12x12 page for her sister, Alayna's great grandma and giving it to her for Christmas. My son Jon captured this moment when Alayna opened her Gift and the Expression on her face - says it all.

Using this Photo - I then created - My "Heritage Makers Why" both in a canvas and a more portable size 12x12 and 8x8 page.

I hope enjoy the video - and take a second or even a third look at the opportunity that Heritage Makers offers - I can be emailed at yourstorybooksonline@gmail.com. I would love to share more with you about this awesome company Heritage Makers. ~ Becky C ~ www.YourStoryBooksOnline.com

Baby Photos and what can I do with them.

I love taking Photos of Baby's ~ Who doesn't?
I ran across this article at the Craftzine Blog which offered up some great hints and tips for taking Baby Photos.

My thought is..... now you have got all those great Baby Pics then what?

Create a Canvas, for home deco, they are great for the baby's room!
- or that beautiful Baby Year book. Baby books have come such a long way in the past 50 years!
- or a Poster.

Heritage Makers offers just that -

I invite you to go to my website www.YourStoryBooksOnline.com, create a free account - or better yet - become a Premier Club Member - and preserve those gorgeous photographs and the memories that are often hidden or in years to come ~ forgotten.

There are so many templates to choose from, and it is so easy to just to create you own.

Ideas

HERITAGE

Discover, explore and record your family history for generations to come.

Time is precious and the people that know all the stories about your family won’t be around forever so get those tales written down now. Are there people in the photos in those old black paper albums that you don’t know the names of or how they are related to you? Find out this information so you can document it to pass on to future generations. It may not seem that important now but what if you don’t know who some of the people in the photos are and one day your child or someone else asks you who the people in the old black photo album are and you can’t tell them.

If you create a Heritage scrapbook album or incorporate the photos into a photo journal and document your family history, this information will be available to future generations. A family tree page is very important to include for future generations because it will show the connection between themselves and all the other family members.

BABY

This is the most special scrapbook album of all and has so many possibilities to make each and every page unique and memorable. My advice here is to keep everything you get concerning your new child starting from when you are in the hospital. Baby food labels and a picture of your child trying the new food also make great souvenirs of their early days. This may be a bit tricky to get photos of this so you may need to enlist the help of dad, a friend or an older child for this.

The sky is the limit because babies have so many different expressions and change so much over the years. You can also take photos of a baby in outfits they were given because especially as newborns they might not fit into it for very long. It is wonderful to capture as much of their changing look because it happens so fast and at least you will have the memories to share with them when as they grow up.

HOLIDAY

The photos of these special occasions (i.e. Easter Egg Hunts, costumes they wore on Halloween, and family gatherings at Thanksgiving and Christmas) are essential to a family scrapbook album. You may also want to divide some of the extra copies of these photos into each child’s individual scrapbook so they can all have their own book of memories.

BIRTHDAY

Include photos of their birthday parties each year in a family scrapbook album so you can see the changes in your child/ren’s appearance, friends, cakes and gifts they received from year to year. These photos can also be incorporated into each child’s individual scrapbook.

WEDDING

If the scrapbook album is for the bride and groom the journaling is very subjective. You are projecting your ideas of what the happy couple may want to have written in the album into the journaling. It will be special because the album will be from your perspective and give them a different outlook on the day. Weddings are very busy and because the bride and groom have so many details to attend to they may not remember some of the special moments that took place during the course of the day.

ANNIVERSARY

This theme can be a stand alone project or part of a family scrapbook album. A stand alone album makes a great gift idea.

TRAVEL/FAMILY TRIP

This theme could be created in one book or if you had a really long and memorable trip each one could be extended into its own album. It all depends on the number of photos and stories you want to include. These are things you can think of when you are on a trip, taking photos with making your project in mind and what you really want to remember. Keep everything (including tickets and information pamphlets you can scan) from shows you may have seen or little side trips you went on so you can remember every little detail of your travels. It all depends on how much detail you want to go into on your pages, whether each trip will have its own scrapbook album, if all trips end up in one album or as part of the family album.

One way to extend an album or fill an entire scrapbook album is to take pictures of every child at different locations you go to so you can pick and choose (or use them all) which pictures will be used. Also, this way everyone gets in the album and there will be no disputes about this. Extra copies of these photos could also be used in a child’s individual scrapbook album.

PETS

Keep a photo record of family pets you have had, especially their growth if you had them from when they were young. You could also include in this theme photos taken during trips to the zoo or various animal parks you have visited as a family. Pictures of your children with pets they treasured will make great memories when they are older. Copies of these pictures could also be included in their individual albums and the family scrapbook album as well.

CHILDHOOD

This album continues from where the Baby Album leaves off and follows the child through each milestone, special event and memorable moment in his or her life.

I hope these ideas help inspire you to decide which Heritage Makers project to begin first.
